Chevy Trax Activ Exterior

This smaller SUV is an incredible option in terms of price point affordability. Starting at just $21,000, it is a really feasible choice for small families or new teen drivers. Today we will be walking through the Activ upgraded model, which sits at a price point just under $25,000 and includes added features to both the interior and exterior.

The front end of this car is stunning and has an elevated feel with the elaborate grill work. I personally love the blacked-out chrome detailing present on the Trax Activ, a really deliberate emphasis on getting a luxury feel at a comfortable price point. We’ve been seeing a trend of wrap-around headlights on newer vehicles in the market, so I really enjoyed this added detail present on the front.

As for the back of the car, it slopes into a coup-like curve, which gives a really sporty look to a traditional sub-compact choice that I know teens will love. The trunk opens up at a bit of an angle, but nothing to be concerned about when loading in or out.

Chevy Trax Activ Fuel Economy

Let’s talk about fuel economy because the Chevy Trax Activ is not playing around. It gets a combined 30 miles per gallon between highway and city, which for any SUV is awesome. Now more than ever, we are seeing SUV’s start to switch over into hybrid and fuel-efficient options (which is fantastic!), and it’s especially exciting to see this occur at an affordable price point.

When considering a car for your family or teen, the weight of a car is really important. If a multi-car accident would ever occur, cars that weigh in around 3,000 pounds hold up better and provide more safety. The 2024 Chevy Trax Activ weighs in at just over 4,000 pounds, a really promising benchmark.

Chevy Trax Activ First Row Details

The Activ model in the Chevy Trax really adds a cool factor to the entire car. While I love the exterior details, I think the fun touches (and added features) are really present on the interior and make the upgraded model a really cool looking car.

Driver Seat Door Panel

Before even opening the door, I want to mention that the 2024 Chevy Trax Activ is keyless! This has been around in many other sub-compact SUVs, but to see it at this price point is really exciting. When taking a look inside, the Activ model has a neon contrast stitching that is carried onto the driver’s AC units. This is a newer, more fun, addition to the plain Chevy and I think it’s super cool.

Infotainment System

Let’s start things off by what I think is a game-changer for the Chevy Track- a digital back. It beautifully integrates with the 11 inch infotainment display, which is an upgrade in the Activ model from the standard 8 inch. For teen drivers specifically, the technology is really user-friendly and will not contribute to added distractions on the road.

What I appreciate most is the AC controls pulled out of the infotainment system and made easily available underneath. While it is down to my personal preference, these are much easier to navigate on the road and stay focused.

Chevy Trax Activ Safety Features

The standard backup camera is shown on that 11 inch display with really crisp details of everything in the background. Like all other Chevys, it comes with Chevy Safety Assist which gives you features including:

Pedestrian warning
Emergency braking
Frontal collision
Lane departure

For someone who has seen their fair share of cars, these safety features are really essential for any new driver or family to remain safe on the road and drive with ease.

Chevy Trax Activ Second Row Details

After setting the front seat for 6-feet, I still have excellent leg room in the second row, along with solid head clearance. As for comfort features, one of the biggest cons is the lack of air vents in the back. Even with the highest trim, there is no ventilation. There is a USB and USB-C along with decent door storage.

Even though I’ve been focusing a lot on the 2024 Chevy Trax Activ for teens, my jaw hit the floor when seeing the car seat clearance. Of all the sub-compact vehicles I’ve toured, this one really impressed me with this detail added in.

Chevy Trax Activ Trunk Details

To start off, there is no power tailgate for this trunk. I feel like I can’t fully complain because the technology in the front is so great, but as you move further back it becomes less and less. That being said, the trunk space is insane! More than my personal vehicle! The spare tire is stored directly underneath and that finishes off the back.
