2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Review: Jeep’s First All-Electric SUV

Jeep just released the Jeep Wagoneer S, and it’s a pretty big deal. Why? This is Jeep’s first global all-electric vehicle. But don’t confuse it with the three-row Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer S is a five-passenger electric SUV, sized much closer to the Grand Cherokee. Jeep says this is their performance-oriented EV, and after spending time with it, I can confirm that it packs a punch!

In case you’re curious, I’ve also toured other SUVs in the Jeep lineup:

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Kelly, The Car Mom. I’m a mom of four and a Certified Passenger Safety Tech (CPST), and I review cars for moms and families. Today, we’re diving into everything you need to know about the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S.

Highlights: What Stands Out In The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S

This isn’t an off-road Jeep like you might expect. Instead, the Wagoneer S is all about performance and speed, making it very different from the trail-focused Jeeps we’re used to seeing. With 600 horsepower and a 0–60 time of just 3.4 seconds, it’s built more like a high-performance SUV than a rugged off-roader.

Here’s what stood out to me:

  • The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S has lower LATCH anchors on the two outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back. The anchors are nicely exposed, which makes installation easier, but the rigid recessed buckles make three across nearly impossible.

  • 600 horsepower with a 0–60 time of just 3.4 seconds. Jeep says you’ll get about 300 miles of range, but realistically, expect less if you drive it like most people will.

  • The second row has plenty of comfort amenities. The bench is deep with good legroom, thigh support, and a panoramic roof. Heated and ventilated outboard seats are a nice touch, but the floor vents are tiny, and there are no ceiling vents.

  • The first row interior is packed with new tech, like 45 inches of screens across the dash, plus a passenger-only screen, heads-up display, and massaging seats. Some features feel useful, others just feel like extra things that can break.

  • On a personal note, I’m not a fan of the new front-end styling, and the badging feels inconsistent. Some spots say Jeep, others say Wagoneer or Wagoneer S. Even Jeep’s messaging around whether Wagoneer is its own brand has been confusing.

What’s Inside the New 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S?

Inside, you’ll find 45 inches of screen space across the dash. That includes:

  • A digital gauge cluster

  • Heads-up display

  • A massive central infotainment screen

  • A passenger-only screen that can stream or handle controls

I like the oval-shaped steering wheel with a flat bottom that a lot of cars are starting to have. It’s more sporty than a normal steering wheel and it’s comfortable in my hands. The seats are firm but supportive, and they even have a massaging function.

This is all great, but not everything hits. The wireless charger was finicky and honestly unusable for me, and the layered storage setup in the center console felt awkward. I appreciate Jeep trying to be innovative, but at this price point, I expect every feature to work seamlessly.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Car Seat Setup

When it comes to car seats, the Wagoneer S works fine for one or two kids, but it’s not very three-across friendly. You do get lower LATCH anchors on both outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back, and I appreciate that the anchors are nicely exposed so you’re not digging around in the fabric.

The problem comes with the rigid, recessed buckles (which means they’re set deeper into the seat instead of sticking up), so that makes three-across setups nearly impossible.

  • You’ll find lower LATCH anchors on both outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back, and the access points are nicely exposed for easier installation.

  • Three across is not really possible in the Wagoneer S, since the rigid, recessed buckles and narrower bench make it almost impossible to fit three car seats side by side.

  • A two-car-seat setup works much better. With the driver’s seat set for me (I’m about six feet tall), I still had decent rear-facing clearance with a baseless infant seat, and I also tested a Britax Poplar forward-facing with a seat belt, which fit well.

  • Rear seat comfort is solid overall, with a deep bench that offers good thigh support, heated and ventilated outboard seats, and a panoramic roof. However, there are no ceiling vents, and the floor vents are quite small, even though legroom and headroom are both good.

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S is great for families with one or two car seats, but if you need three-across flexibility, this isn’t the SUV for you.

Spacious Trunk for a 2 Row SUV

For a two-row SUV, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S has a very spacious trunk. It has a wide opening and extra underfloor storage, but aerodynamic design features like the extended spoiler do cut down on vertical height a little.

But for strollers, groceries, and your average everyday gear, it’s a solid setup.

Who Is The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S For?

The Wagoneer S is definitely an impressive electric SUV in terms of performance. It’s fast, sporty, and tech-heavy.

But for families? It’s a mixed bag. It works well for one to two car seats, but it’s not three-across friendly. Storage is just okay, and at $72,000, you’ll want to carefully consider competitors’ offerings for more practicality at a lower price point.

So who is this SUV for? I think it’s a fit for smaller families who want an electric vehicle with style and serious horsepower, and who don’t mind paying more for Jeep’s first big EV push.

I just HAVE to know, what do you think of the name “Wagoneer S”? Jeep actually ran a naming contest back in 2022, got over 80,000 entries, and claimed the majority told them to just keep “Wagoneer S.” Personally, I don’t buy it, but I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
