What’s interesting about the Blazer SS is how Chevy completely reimagined it. For comparison, Ford brought the Bronco back to its rugged roots, while Chevy went in a totally different direction by turning the Blazer into a high-performance EV. It’s definitely a unique move. Even though it doesn’t totally give me the same “Blazer” feel as before, I actually do like this car, and I’m excited to show you why.

2025 Chevy Blazer SS Highlights

The 2025 Blazer EV is definitely an interesting one. There’s a lot to love here, especially if you’re thinking about making the switch to an electric SUV but still want something stylish and exciting to drive. So, let’s talk about the things that left an impression:

For families, there are lower LATCH anchors on both outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back.
In my book, the SS trim stands for “super sassy, sporty,” and it absolutely looks the part.
The interior tech finally feels modern and user-friendly with clear displays and intuitive controls. The ambient lighting adds a fun touch, and you also get built-in Alexa, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
It’s all-wheel drive (AWD) with 612 horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 in about 3.4 seconds, so it’s a powerful, fun drive.
The front end has a light bar that runs across the grille, and since EVs don’t need airflow for an engine, Chevy went with a clean, simple design that still looks sharp.
The second row is roomy and surprisingly three-across friendly thanks to a flat, wide bench and minimal bolsters.
The trunk space is generous with extra deep underfloor storage for strollers, groceries, or gear.

First Look at the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS

This SUV actually feels bigger than just a five-passenger vehicle. It has really good lines, and the overall shape makes it look long and wide. I like the exterior design, and it feels sporty without being overdone.

Up front, this SS trim has a light bar that goes across the front grille with the Chevy logo right in the middle. Since EVs don’t have to worry about air flow or cooling down an engine, their front grilles can be more expressive or simplified. Chevy took the simpler approach here with the Blazer, and I think it works.

Coming around to the back, the Blazer SS leans into a coupe-style roofline, which gives it a sleek look without taking away too much space inside. You’ll see the Blazer badge with the green “E,” which lets you know it’s electric. This model is also all-wheel drive, which adds to the versatility for families who drive in different conditions.

Overall, I really like how the Blazer SS looks on the outside. It’s sporty, clean, and modern, and it feels like a bigger vehicle than it actually is.

The Chevy Blazer SS Is Packed With Power And Speed

Performance-wise, this thing is kind of a powerhouse. The 2025 Chevy Blazer SS has about 612 horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 in around 3.4 seconds, which is really impressive for a family SUV. EVs are just fast cars. You really feel that instant torque when you’re driving around town. It’s quick, smooth, and fun.

If you’ve never driven an EV before, it’s definitely a different experience. They use something called one-pedal driving. In a standard car, when you take your foot off the gas, the car keeps rolling. In the Blazer SS, when you lift your foot, the car slows down more aggressively. Some people can even do most of their drive without ever putting their foot on the brake because the car slows itself down so quickly.

It takes a little getting used to, but I really like that even though it’s an EV, it doesn’t drive like a lightweight electric car. It still feels substantial and sporty. Between the all-wheel drive and the instant response, it gives you a really engaging drive without feeling harsh or overly aggressive.

Inside The Driver’s Seat

Okay, let’s talk about the interior because there is a bit of a jump scare when you open the door and see ALL THE RED LEATHER. The red is definitely a choice. It’s not my favorite, but it’s for someone!

Otherwise, the interior really is beautiful. Chevy has stepped it up in the last couple of years, and the Blazer SS is no exception.

From the driver’s seat, here’s what stands out:

The dashboard and display setup look so modern. You have your dash here and then a curved display right next to it. It’s updated but still very user-friendly.
There’s also a heads-up display that shows your speed, the speed limit, and navigation right on the windshield.
Climate control is easy to use, which I really appreciate. You can adjust it either with the screen or the physical knobs, whichever you prefer.
You get fun extras like ambient lighting and built-in Alexa.
There are several drive modes, including Normal, Sport, Snow and Ice, and even “Z Mode,” which is the sporty one.
The infotainment system includes apps like Spotify, Waze, and Amazon Music, plus a Wi-Fi hotspot.

One of my favorite things about this setup is that I don’t feel like I’m sitting in a typical EV. Some EVs have this really open, minimal look, but the Blazer SS feels like a true cockpit. It’s comfortable, familiar, and really well designed for the driver.

The storage is great up front, too. There’s a big center compartment, two cupholders, a wireless charging pad, and even more space underneath the console. For the size of this car, there’s a lot of smart storage built in.

Visibility in the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS is just okay. The slanted roofline means the rear window is a little small, but Chevy includes a rearview camera mirror, which helps a ton, especially if you have car seats or taller passengers in the back.

You also get Chevy’s Super Cruise, which is their autonomous driving feature, and it’s a fun one to try.

There’s actually a lot of good things happening in the second row of the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS. Let’s start with the car seat setup:

Three tether anchors across the back

I installed two car seats, a Graco SlimFit3 LX forward-facing and a Joie rear-facing, and both fit really well.

With the rear-facing seat, there was really good clearance, and I was honestly impressed because the Blazer SS feels like a big car on the inside. What also stood out to me is how three-across friendly it is.

This is why it’s great for 3 across:

The second-row bench is wide and flat, which makes it easy to install multiple seats.
The seat bolsters are small and even, so you can move a car seat almost all the way over and still get a tight installation.
The lower LATCH anchors are easy to access, and the covers stay attached, so you don’t lose them.
There are three tether anchors across the back, giving you flexibility for forward-facing seats.

When I talk about three-across setups, it can be difficult because sometimes it only works with one exact combination. But the Blazer SS offers a lot of versatility. You could have an infant seat, a booster, and even an adult passenger in the back, and it would still feel comfortable. So BIG thumbs up there.

The Second Row Also Has A Lot Of Thoughtful Features For Families

Great legroom and easy access to the back seat.
Air vents that are placed higher than usual help airflow reach passengers better.
Heated outboard seats and plenty of charging ports in the SS trim.

The headroom does cut off and slope down a little because of the coupe-style roofline, but even still, it’s roomy and comfortable.

Chevy Blazer SS Trunk Space

The trunk in the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS is a good size and really practical for families. There’s a lot of room for strollers, sports gear, or groceries, and you also get extra storage underneath the floor. That lower compartment goes down deep, which is great for keeping smaller items out of the way.

One thing I noticed is that you can’t fold the second row down from the trunk area. It’s not a huge deal, but for the price of the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS, I expected that feature. You have to walk around to the side to do it manually.

Once the seats are folded, you get a large, flat loading area that works great for family trips or everyday errands. Overall, it feels practical for everyday family life, even if a few small conveniences are missing.

Overall, I actually do like the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS. There are a lot of pros to it, so let’s recap.

From a family perspective, there’s a lot to love. It’s roomy inside, the car seat setup works really well, and the tech is awesome. The screens are modern, yet still user-friendly, and the storage throughout the cabin is great for day-to-day life.

Performance-wise, the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS is a powerhouse. It’s fast, smooth, and fun to drive, especially around town. I like that it doesn’t feel like a typical EV either. You wouldn’t really know it’s electric until you start driving it.
