2024 Hyundai Santa Fe - Complete Redesign!
I have a COMPLETE vehicle redesign on deck with me today! The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has a completely new interior and exterior and this might possibly be the most redesigned SUV I’ve ever seen. The Santa Fe has always been one of my favorite five passenger family vehicles, but does the new remodel mean it’s just as family friendly? Let’s find out!

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Exterior
If the exterior of the new Santa Fe looks crazy unique and different to you, that’s because it is. There is nothing like this on the road and it looks nothing like the other Hyundais in the lineup. I will say, this exterior has taken a little bit of getting used to. I like it more than I did originally.
Let’s talk about the front of the car because it’s really interesting. There is a ton of chrome on the front, plus the squared-off headlights and front H logo. It’s a much more square vehicle in general and you can really see it on the side. On this model I’m touring today, I have the SE trim level and has a $37,000 MSRP.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe First Row
Let’s talk about the first row because there are a lot of base level standard features that are really good looking. USB-C ports, two random but still convenient phone holders, and absolutely massive cupholders make up the center console. The console itself could be bigger, but it’s a smaller vehicle so I’m not mad at it. Two glove boxes for storage finish off the first row and I am really happy with the first row.
Infotainment System
Other than Kia, I think Hyundai has the best infotainment system in the game. So beautiful, user-friendly, and I love the curved touch screen towards the driver. I still really enjoy the physical climate controls being pulled out, as well as volume controls. Everything is easy and this is not always the case in infotainment systems.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Second Row
Before we go any further, let’s talk car seat hardware. The Santa Fe is available in both a bench seat and captain’s chairs, but the captain’s chairs are only available on higher trims. With the bench, you have lower anchors in both outboard seats and tether anchors across the back.
Let’s get this out the way, this is not a vehicle I recommend for three car seats across. It would take a one-on-one with a CPST to get a very complicated set up to get all three kids to fit safely across this 60/40 bench. Most situations will not work.
That being said, it’s a very spacious second row and installs two car seats very well. If the seat belt overlap wasn’t occurring as much as it is, three would be possible. It’s very comfortable, offers great storage, and there’s two cup holders on either side.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Third Row
First of all, let’s talk about the fact that the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has a third row?! This is BRAND NEW and I am pleasantly surprised by it. As far as hardware is concerned, the two seats in the back (which you know I love) each have their own sets of lower anchors and tether anchors. That’s best-in-class.
To actually get into the third row, you utilize the Tilt-and-Slide feature of the second row bench. I will say - this third now is not large. Head room is incredible, but I am comfortable for once in a while use back here.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Trunk
Power tailgate on the base level trim. Need I say more? Looking inside the trunk, with the third row up it’s still large, but not deep. My pantry shelves are deeper than this. The Mockingbird double stroller will not fit with the third row up, but once it’s down there’s no problem. Obviously, it’s a nice size with the third row down, but there is room with it up to haul things.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Wrap Up
Overall, I think the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle choice for smaller families looking for that occasional third row use. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning about this entire redesign, but I love all the features that come standard on the base trim that you will use everyday. If you’re considering a test drive, I’d highly recommend it, but only if you do not need three car seats across the second row.
