2025 Infiniti QX80

We’ve got a redesigned full-size hauler on deck today! I’m here at the New York Auto Show and the 2025 Infiniti QX80 is one of the stars today. Infiniti says it’s setting the new benchmark for the full-size market, but the question stands: is this vehicle family-friendly?

If you’re new here - welcome! I’m Kelly the Car Mom and as a mom of almost four (if you missed the life update click here), CPST, and a huge car fan, I can’t wait to walk you through all the features of the 2025 Ford Explorer to help see if it’s right for your family.

2025 Infiniti QX80 Exterior

The QX80 exterior has been completely redesigned and it's sleeker and more updated than what it previously was. I feel like the Infiniti QX body style is kind of controversial - people either love it or they think it's way too bubbly. This new look definitely gives it a sportier edge.

I’m walking through the Autograph trim, which comes in around $110,000 MSRP. Other Infiniti QX80s are going to start closer to $82,000 MSRP.

Looking at the side profile, the Autograph’s 22in wheels are absolutely stunning and help showcase a slightly more squared off body. All door handles go flush until the vehicle's unlocked and really give it a sleek vibe.

Overall, I actually really like the exterior, but I've always kind of been a fan of the QX80. I think it's a little less boxy than the Tahoes and Suburbans of the road.

2025 Infiniti QX80 First Row

The interior of this redesigned 2025 Infiniti QX80 is stunning. Previously, I felt like the interior didn't really justify the price points, but this is giving upgraded. First of all, I'm loving this maroon color inside - it's super fresh. We have speakers all around our headrests along with all the charging capabilities you could need.

Going into our center console, it feels a little clunky with different storage divisions, but I also like that it can double as a cool box too. Overall, a very comfy first row with everything (and more) you need for a smooth driving experience.

Infotainment System

We have two 14.3 in displays, that are completely connected, and display our dash and infotainment system. We also have one of my favorite new family features: a rear view camera in the mirror. I love this in family cars because if you have passengers in the second and third row, you can get an unobstructed view of what's behind you. Full color Heads Up Display is available, along with a 9in screen for climate control.

2025 Infiniti QX80 Second Row

In the past, I've had issues with the QX80 because for a true full-size SUV,  it just wasn't very car seat friendly. That being said, Infiniti has made some improvements for 2025 and have piqued my interest.

Okay first of all, when you get the captain chairs (which is going to be the more common setup in the QX80) it comes with a giant built-in center console. For a lot of families, this defeats the point of having the captain’s chairs because you lose your third row access. I don't know about you, but I don't want my 5-year-old standing on the console just to get to the third row.

Thankfully, Infiniti has implemented one of my favorite features for the new model - a car seat friendly tilt. This way, you can actually tilt the entire seat, if you have a car seat installed with the lower anchors. It's not going to work for every situation, but it’s going to help a lot of families have some better third row access.

As far as the car seat hardware is concerned, you have lower anchors in both captain's chairs,  one set of lower anchors behind the passenger in the third row, and  tether anchors found in all five seats. Overall, I really like all of these upgrades and like they're definitely giving luxury, but I don't feel like I have a super spacious airy cabin because there's just so many screens and so many different things going on.

2025 Infiniti QX80 Third Row

In the third row, we have a little bit of an elevated floorboard so my knees are slightly elevated, but it's not horrible. Something I'm really appreciating about this redesign of this QX80 y is that these second row seats are now on tracks, so you have a little bit more of an adjustable cabin.

Good head clearance and good amenities back here including: heated seats, two cup holders, and my own charging. I like that all of these headrests are removable because they are going to be tricky for car seats.

Overall, I’m a fan, but it’s just difficult for younger kids to get back here on a daily basis.

2025 Infiniti QX80 Trunk

Let's talk trunk space of the QX80. As I open it, we’ve got power tailgate of course.  With the third row up, it's not very big. I do want you to keep in mind none of the full-size SUVs have big trunks until you get to the extended wheel-based version. Unfortunately, Infiniti does not offer this in their QX80.

2025 Infiniti QX80 Wrap Up

I really do like the redesigned 2025 Infiniti QX80. Although the MSP is incredibly expensive, you have a lot of really lux features that help justify it. To me, this is not a vehicle for parents with young kids just because of how difficult it is to access that third row and little trunk space.

That being said, if you are looking for a luxury car for older kids, it’s worth a test drive.
