2024 Honda CRV EXL
Today is a long overdue car tour! I finally got my hands on the 2024 Honda CRV and after the 2023 redesign, it’s been on my list to show you the new body style and what it has to offer for families. Most importantly, can this vehicle fit three car seats across in the second row?

2024 Honda CRV Exterior
This is a pretty exciting redesign for the CRV. This model is a pretty iconic staple in the Honda lineup for good reason. It’s very popular, reliable, and affordable - what more would you want out of a family vehicle?
Looking at the exterior of the CRV, I love the boxier look. It’s got a much more sporty vibe to it. With the EXL trim, we're looking at an MSRP about $37,000 for this midsize two row SUV and I think the exterior looks really good for the price.
On the side profile, you're going to see some nice new body lines. Everything's a little sharper and crisper. The back end sits up a little higher and overall I just think it's a very nice fresh body style.
2024 Honda CRV First Row Details
The interior is such a nice upgrade to the CRVs I’ve toured in the past. The details, fabrics, and colors really make use of the more affordable price point. There is some nice storage in the front, along with charging ports and two really large cup holders. As for visibility, even with three car seats in the second row it’s decent. Overall, I really like it in the front row and am comfortable as a driver.
Infotainment System
Starting off, we have a beautiful digital dash, but a slightly funky screen. It’s a little small, yet the Honda Accord’s screen is large. Competitors in this category have much better screens - just saying. With the updated interior, it would be nice to see the infotainment system be upgraded as well.
2024 Honda CRV Second Row Details
I cannot wait to walk you through the second row because there are some stellar upgrades and it’s pretty darn car friendly. The second row has been controversial for a while due to a very weird seat belt overlap. It kind of turned into a four passenger vehicle. The good news is they have fixed it in this 2024 model, which means since there was no seat belt overlap I could easily install three car seats across.
One thing unique about the middle tether anchor of the Honda CRV is it’s on the ceiling. I've never seen that before, I don't know why it's there, but I just don't want you to go looking for it no it and not finding it.
Amenities in the back include:
Two USB-C ports
Two air vents (although they’re small)
Nice cup holders
2024 Honda CRV Trunk Details
First off, I love a power tailgate. It’s available on the EXL trim and if you can afford the upgrade, it’s a really nice add-on that makes life easier. With a Mockingbird stroller just thrown in, it fit great. I could make it even more compact for extra space, but I wouldn’t worry about space in the slightest. It’s both deep and wide making it quite impressive.
2024 Honda CRV Wrap Up
This long overdue refresh has made the 2024 Honda CRV such a great choice for families. For an MSRP of $37,000 and the excellent second row, I highly recommend including this vehicle in your test drive list. A fair warning, if you’re looking into the used car market, be wary of the second row LATCH seating in older models. This was a huge change in the 2023 refresh and has now made it three car seats across friendly, but it’s not possible in 2022 and earlier versions.
