2024 Ford F350 King Ranch Review: Is It Family-Friendly?
We’ve got a hauler (literally) on deck today! The 2024 Ford F350 King Ranch is the third truck I’ll be walking through as the Car Mom. We know this thing can tow, haul, and do all the classic truck things, but is it versatile for families? That’s what we will be talking about today.

2024 Ford F350 King Ranch Exterior
The F350 is the biggest of the Ford truck lineup. When I say this truck is big - it’s big. Coming in at 232-266″ L x 80-96″ W x 78-81″ H, you’re looking at this truck if you really need to haul things on a regular basis.
The King Ranch edition of the 2024 Ford F350 is a special trim version that adds luxury and style to the already powerful truck. Named after the iconic King Ranch in Texas, it has a lot of premium materials and design elements inspired by the ranch's heritage. I’m talking leather, wood trim accents, and all the latest tech. On the outside, the King Ranch has a unique badging, distinctive grille design, and often exclusive paint colors.
Two family-friendly features that I really love on the outside of this F350 are the keypad and power running boards. I really love the keypad feature because if someone has to run out to their car and get something, it’s so simple. As for the power running boards, it’s perfect for families to help get your kids inside because of how large this truck really is.
2024 Ford F350 King Ranch First Row
Looking into the first row of this truck, we’ve got a ton of storage in here. Trucks are very similar to minivans in the way that they just reign supreme in cup holders and cubby space. Both the door panel and center console have more than enough room for cleaning supplies, tissues, water bottles, etc…
Infotainment System
The standout tech includes a heads-up display (HUD) that provides essential information like time, temperature, speed, navigation, and caller ID without being distracting. It's impressively wide, ensuring easy visibility. Unfortunately, the Expedition doesn't offer HUD yet, but hopefully, it'll come in 2025 models. Another cool feature is the seat belt sensor on the dash, showing who's buckled up with a green light.
The King Ranch edition is fully loaded with amenities like backup and surround view cameras, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and ample charging ports. Plus, there's smart storage to keep things nice and tidy.
2024 Ford F350 King Ranch Second Row
Let's take a look at the second row of the Ford F350. The clearance and width are great, making it a solid bench seat with a door cup holder and ample cubby space. The seat offers excellent head and knee clearance, and it's very comfortable. In this King Ranch trim, you'll find heated seats on the outboard, two USB ports, and vents on the back of the center console. The floor space is generous and flat, which is a plus because there’s no bump in the middle seat which can be so annoying. There's some handy storage space underneath the seat, accessible by lifting it up briefly. The power bed with a camera on top is a cool feature, allowing for visibility even with the bed down.
Car Seat Set Up
Let's talk about car seat setup. This is a five passenger truck and we have three seats back here. Looking at the bench we have lower anchors on the outboard seats and tether anchors across the back.
This Ford F350 is a three across machine. I used slim car seats, I don't even think I had to, but I used three Graco SlimFit 3LX’s and they're one of my go-to slim car seats because they really work in a lot tighter situations. They worked without a problem three across because this is a really solid bench seat width and depth wise.
2024 Ford F350 King Ranch Wrap Up
Overall, the F350 is an excellent family-friendly vehicle and Ford has some of the best bench seats out there. Tyler, my husband, personally drives an F250 and we’ve loved it for our three kids and consider ourselves big Ford people. I really love this F350 King Ranch and would say if you’re considering it, do a test drive and see if it could work for your family.
