2022 Infiniti QX60 Autograph

Infiniti invited me out to Napa Valley to take a look at their new lineup of 2022 cars and they let me test drive an amazing QX60 for the weekend. So we took a drive to the coast and parked here at Goat Rock Beach so I could jump out and give you a tour. Follow along to see what I think about this car!

My Honest Review on the Infinity QX60

Infiniti began their redesign by first choosing the target market this luxury SUV would be designed for. They settled on not only a market but on a specific persona. They called her Claire. Claire is a working mom, she is a good friend and is actively involved in her community. She appreciates experience, comfort and practicality. Basically, there’s a good chance Claire is a member of the #carmomcrew. I really connected to the Claire persona because I speak with women just like her everyday! I was so encouraged to see a car brand make their target persona a professional mother because I feel we are often left out as a market. So here’s my review:

Exterior

Completely redesigned for 2022, the Infiniti QX60 is looking and driving amazing. I love the chrome that accents the full exterior, the wraparound LED headlights, and two-toned wheels. It can tow up to 6,000 pounds, which is impressive for a car of this size, but what I am liking the most about the exterior is every door has keyless entry. That means I can walk up to the car with my keys in my purse and open the backdoor to load my kids in without pulling out my keys or having to open the driver's side door first.

Interior

Front Row

Jumping into the driver’s seat I am blown away by the luxury of this vehicle. Infinity really stepped it up in 2022 and I’d say this car would compete with the luxury cars like BMW and Audi. I love the textured wood trim, and the saddle brown trim with the contrast stitching. But the cup holder in the door is the most important door panel feature, and the QX60 driver door fits three, count them, three cups.

The dash display is completely digital and customizable. There is a mini car icon that tells me who is buckled and who isn’t. It also has a head’s up display that tells me everything like my speed, caller ID, and navigation. I love it because I don’t have to take my eyes off the road.

The touch screen isn’t integrated into the dash, but I think it works for this car. I do like that it’s slightly angled toward the driver for better visibility. The vents are integrated into the beautiful quilted leather that wraps the dash, doors, center console and seats. Under the screen is another mini touch screen for climate control and volume. It looks amazing, but this piano glass black plastic is fingerprint city. Keep a microfiber towel in your glove box.

Some other really nice features are the panoramic sunroof, ventilated, heated and massaging seats, auto hold, and a rearview camera option in the rearview camera. This is a great feature when your car is packed with kids and gear and you can’t see out the back.

Lastly, the center console: honestly, I’ve seen bigger, but it’s OK. There is a USB and 12 volt in there. They did add additional storage in between the seats where I can throw my purse or diaper bag. And there are two more cup holders and a spot to wirelessly charge my phone.

Second Row

Heading into the second row I have plenty of knee clearance back here even with the driver’s seat set for me and I’m about 6 feet tall. The seats are on tracks to give the third row more room or more room for the back seat if the third row is down. The backdoor is huge and opens wider than most cars so you have more room when loading and unloading kids and car seats. For amenities in this Autograph trim level, the second row has ceiling vents, climate control, heated seats, USB, USBC, and an outlet so you can charge your phone, charge your breast pump, and charge your crockpot. Eh I take that last one back. The center console in the back has a cup holder and cubby space and is removable. My favorite feature though is the car seat friendly tilt, and it’s available on every trim level. The car seat tilt allows you to push the seat forward to get access to the third row without taking out the car seat or compromising the install.

I don’t have car seats to try out, just a booster seat, but I’m confident a forward facing and rear facing car seat would fit just fine in here.

Third Row

To get into the third row press a button on the bottom or back of the back seat. There are two seats in the back—no middle—which I appreciate because with the extra room the two seats are roomier and comfortable. My head and knee clearance is good, but I’m bummed there’s no sunroof back here like some of the other luxury cars do. There are ceiling vents in the third row, which is new for 2022, as well as USBs and cup holders on both sides. I was able to get a successful install of the booster seat in the third row, but I think it would be too tight for a forward or rear facing car seat.

Car Seat Set Up

This trim level has captain chairs that both have lower and tether anchors. Lower trims offer the bench, which comes with 5 lower anchors so you have lots of car seat flexibility. Remember, you cannot share lower anchors though so to get 3 across you’d need at least one of them to use the seat belt. One car seat feature that I’m really excited about is the car seat friendly tilt on both sides. One thing to note, the car seat tilt only works with lower anchors, which have a weight limit so you might not be able to use the car seat friendly tilt for the entirety of the life of your child in a car seat.

Carseat Set Up

Trunk

You can activate the power liftgate by pressing a button or kicking under the car. I didn’t have a stroller with me when I reviewed the QX60, but I’m very confident my Uppababy Vista would fit back here. I love the plastic lined cubby space in the floor— it’s great for sports or beach gear. To fold the seats down from the trunk, pull the headrest handle and lift a lever, and the seat lays flat. I like that it’s not a powered seat because those can take forever to fold down, like in the Lexus RX350L. But you cannot put down the second row from the trunk. Not the end of the world, but just not as convenient.

Trim

The lowest trim, Pure, has all the standard safety features, car seat tilt and power liftgate, but I’d go up to the Luxe AWD with a few more comfort features like ventilated seats and sunshades. To get captain chairs you have to go up to Autograph, but I really like the bench seat in this car.

Final Overview

I am so happy with the redesign of the 2022 Infiniti QX60. They took note of all the comfort and convenience features that moms are asking for—there’s a wireless charger, 7 USBs, 14 cup holders, and nice amenities for every row. It definitely measures up to The Car Mom standards.
