Clean Cars Drive Better: Tips For Cleaning Your Car Interior

As a mom I spend a TON of time in my car. It can be argued parents spend more time in their cars than most. From carpool drop off and pick up, doctors appointments, sports practices and games, grocery runs (multiple times a week) and that doesn’t even include the yearly family road trips!

Family cars can get messy really quickly which makes the constant driving even more of a headache when that stale french fry under the seat starts rot. My dad always told me “clean cars drive better” and since becoming a mom I have found that to be more and more true. I have started making it a priority to keep my car as clean as possible so I feel relaxed and comfortable when driving!

Tips for Cleaning Your Car Interior:

Declutter

Start by removing any unnecessary items and clutter from your car. Dispose of trash, organize belongings, and create designated storage areas to maintain orderliness. I recommend investing in a small car trash can or even leaving empty grocery bags in your car to collect trash on long drives. I also keep my glove box and center console organized by storing my essentials in zipper bags.

Vacuum Thoroughly

Use a vacuum cleaner with appropriate attachments to vacuum all surfaces, including seats, floor mats, carpets, and hard-to-reach areas. Pay special attention to corners, crevices, and under the seats. I personally like the Bissell Aeroslim Vacuum.

Wipe and Clean Surfaces

Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down surfaces such as the dashboard, steering wheel, door panels, and center console.

Maintain Cleanliness with a Multipurpose Cleaner

Just like we wipe down our kitchen counters every day, we need to be spraying down the surfaces within our vehicles as well! Which is why I developed The Car Wash Multipurpose Cleaner! This environment and motherhood-approved cleaner was created with families in mind. The cleaner is non toxic and made with organic ingredients which allows you to rest easy knowing your vehicle isn’t going to be filled with chemicals. I think there is a time and a place for a deep interior clean with chemicals but for the weekly cleanings I recommend using a less harsh cleaner.

Lavender & Sweet Orange, Grapefruit & Rosemary, Eucalyptus & Cedarwood

Freshen the Air

Invest in a good air freshener so every time you get into your car you are greeted by a fresh scent! I like the Pura Car Air Freshener.

Maintaining a clean car interior is not merely about appearances; it encompasses a range of benefits that contribute to your comfort, health, and the preservation of your vehicle's value. Remember, a clean car interior is not an option but an investment in your well-being and the longevity of your vehicle! And also… CLEAN CARS DRIVE BETTER!
