How Does Stow and Go Seating Work?

So, what exactly is "stow and go" seating? It’s the storage solution minivan lovers have been asking for. The seats in the second and third rows can be folded down, creating a flat floor and expanding the cargo space. No more struggling to remove heavy seats or compromising on hauling capacity.

The process is simple and intuitive- just release a couple of latches or press a button, and the seats effortlessly fold down into the floor. It's like having a minivan and a cargo hauler all in one!

Steps To Fold Stow And Go Seating:

  • Push your first row seats all the way forward

  • Lift up second row seat floor panels

  • Hit level on side of seat

  • Push the seat down into the floor and you’re good to go!

What Are The Benefits?

Stow and go was created to be all about flexibility. It’s designed so you can easily switch between seating configurations and cargo space, adapting to your changing needs on the fly. Whether you're taking a family road trip, moving furniture, or simply need extra room for shopping, these minivans have you covered.

Another significant advantage is convenience. Although a few minivans on the market require removing heavy seats, stow and go is the future. Stow and go seating allows you to transform your minivan with minimal effort. No more cramming everything into tight spaces or leaving things behind due to lack of space.

There are four major minivans on the market, but the only option with stow and go seating is the Chrysler Pacifica. To see a complete tour of Chrysler Pacifica, click here!

Chrysler created stow and go seating originally in 2005 and received a patent on their innovative chairs in 2013. Although I recommend this seat option to any and all families considering a Pacifica, their 2023 model does not offer stow and go seats in the second row.

Due to their hybrid model needing battery space, there is no room to fold into the middle part of the vehicle. However, the third row does offer stow and go seats, allowing for a lot of trunk space when needed. If you have fallen in love with the idea of stow and go seating (which rightfully so), I recommend going to a Chrysler dealership and seeing the options on newer models and the space they provide.
